March Birthstone
The birthstone for March is the icy blue Aquamarine. The seawater color of aquamarine has given this gemstone its name as the name “aquamarine” is derived from the Latin word for seawater. The Greeks and the Romans knew the aquamarine as the sailor’s gem, ensuring the safe and prosperous passage across stormy seas. In Medieval times, the stone was thought to reawaken the love of married couples. To the Egyptians it was a symbol of happiness and everlasting youth.

February Birthstone
The birthstone for February is the stunning purple Amethyst. Amethyst is said to strengthen relationships and give its wearer courage. At one time, only royalty could wear the gem. According to old Roman myth, St. Valentine was a priest who travelled around performing marriages known for wearing an Amethyst ring carved with the image of cupid. This is how the tradition of Valentine’s Day started. This is the reason why Amethysts are regarded as symbols of love and are the designated February birthstone.

Bespoke Jewellery Design
Knight Jewellers offer a Bespoke Jewellery Design Service giving you the opportunity to turn your dreams into an original piece of jewellery. We work with you to design and create your own jewellery for those moments in life when only something truly unique will do.
We do this through a simple process:
- Discuss your requirements and suggest options from our years of experience.
- We will produce a quotation from this to help you make the decision.
- We will create drawings of your dream piece of jewellery for approval.
- We can then get the jewellery produced CAD drawing, so you can see the real intricacies of the piece.
- The piece is then commissioned and created by one of our craftsmen.
